Air conditioning

An air-to-air heat pump consists of an outdoor unit and one or more indoor units, depending on how many rooms you want to cool. The indoor unit extracts heat and transports it to the outdoor unit, where it is removed. The same heat pump can also heat by the reverse process: heat is pumped in from outside through the outdoor unit.

In addition to cooling in the summer and heating in the winter, an air-to-air heat pump also offers the benefit of air purification. The air conditioner's filtration system filters out pollen, dust mites and unpleasant odors. In addition, it provides dehumidification, so you won't suffer from a sticky feeling or excessively dry air.

Ventilation

Improving indoor air quality is essential to prevent unpleasant odors, mold, allergies and health problems. There are two methods of ventilation: uncontrolled and controlled ventilation, also known as natural and mechanical ventilation. But what exactly is the difference?

Natural ventilation is the most natural and energy-efficient form of ventilation. It is achieved through grilles on exterior walls, open windows or exhaust and supply ducts.

With mechanical ventilation, you can determine the air flow rate (amount of air per unit time) yourself. Often natural ventilation is insufficient, especially in well-insulated homes where there are hardly any cracks or crevices through which air can escape. Therefore, it is important to check which ventilation system is most suitable for your home. Since 2006, it is even mandatory to install ventilation in newly built homes and in renovations for which a building permit is requested.
