Why Investing in Charging Infrastructure Pays Off

Private charging is significantly cheaper than public charging, and that difference really adds up on your energy bill. By installing charging stations at the workplace and at your employees’ homes, you can drastically reduce charging costs.

One partner for all your charging solutions

From charging stations at work to home charging and fast chargers: we offer comprehensive solutions tailored to your business needs.

Charging Stations at Work

Equip your company parking lot with smart charging stations for employees and customers.

At Employees' Homes

Let your employees charge their vehicles at home at affordable energy rates.

Fast Chargers

Ideal for companies with a logistics fleet, limited loading time, or a strategic location.

Smartly distributed, always charged

In large charging stations where multiple vehicles are charging at the same time, it is crucial to distribute the available power efficiently. Thanks to load balancing, we dynamically adjust the charging power of each charging station to match the building’s total capacity.

Smart Charging, Maximum Efficiency

With smart control via our EMS system, you can optimize every charging session for minimal costs and maximum efficiency. Fully tailored to your energy profile, solar production, and rate structure.

Charging with Solar Energy

For companies with their own solar panels, solar charging is the most cost-effective way to charge electric vehicles. Our system detects in real time when solar energy is available and automatically adjusts the charging process accordingly.

Dynamic Energy Rates

With dynamic electricity contracts, the price of electricity fluctuates based on market demand. Our smart control system responds to these fluctuations and automatically charges vehicles at the most cost-effective times of the day. This allows you to take full advantage of low electricity prices without having to intervene manually.

Are charging stations required for your business?

Starting in 2025, certain businesses will be legally required to provide charging infrastructure in their parking lots. This measure is intended to accelerate the transition to electric vehicles and applies to non-residential buildings with larger parking lots.

Who is this for?

Do you own a non-residential building with 20 or more parking spaces? If so, you must provide at least two charging stations starting January 1, 2025.

Enforcement

The Flemish Energy and Climate Agency monitors compliance. If you violate the regulations, you risk a fine of €2,000 per missing charging station.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can a home charging station cause a power outage?

Charging your electric car requires a lot of power. To prevent power outages, there is Dynamic Load Balancing (DLB). This system continuously measures how much power is being drawn and intervenes when a critical threshold is approached.

How does DLB work? For example, by temporarily reducing the amount of power sent to a high-demand device—which, in many cases, is your electric car. But the reverse is also true! If your charging station detects that you’re barely using any power at a given moment, it will send more energy to your car.

The first thing you need to know is: How is your home connected to the grid? Is it a single-phase connection (single-phase) or a 3-phase connection? Check your electricity meter in your utility closet.

→ Does your electricity meter say 220/230V? If so, you have a single-phase connection.

→ Does your electricity meter read 3x 220V or 380/400V? If so, you have a three-phase connection.

→ Do you see "3x 230V" listed? If so, you can also charge using single-phase power only.

Not every car can charge at full power from a 3-phase charging station. Some cars can only charge at one-third of the maximum power. Even if your car has a 3-phase charger, the maximum is often 11 kW, not 22 kW. Charging is always safe, but the combination of car and charging station determines how fast it goes.

At EnergyKing, we only install charging stations from top brands. That said, each brand excels in a different way. Having trouble deciding? No worries:

  • Looking for a charging station on a budget? Then Peblar is a smart choice.
  • Do you trust the best-selling brand? Alfen ranks highest with us and is the most trusted brand.
  • Do you want something that's easy on the eyes? Then go for the stylish Blitz charging stations.
  • Do you prefer to go for the very best? Veton offers only premium products of the highest quality.

A charging station can usually withstand a bit of rough handling. Still, it doesn’t hurt to have our technicians perform a preventive inspection of your charging station once a year or every two years. That way, you can avoid costly repairs and ensure your charging station continues to perform at its best.

EnergyKing offers bidirectional-ready charging stations. With this type of charging station, energy can flow in two directions: from the charging station to your car and from your car back to the power grid or your home. Please note: bidirectional charging stations only work with compatible vehicles.

Before you can install a charging station like this, the distribution system operator Fluvius must first check whether any modifications to the connection or the distribution system are needed.
