How much does an air conditioner cost?

A fair price is always determined on a case-by-case basis, because no two homes are the same. For a single-split air conditioner that cools and heats a single room, you can generally expect to pay around €1,700 to €2,700, including installation. If you want to cool or heat multiple rooms, you’ll need a multi-split system, with prices starting at around €2,500.
6% VAT starting in 2026
An air conditioner with a heating function is subject to the reduced 6% VAT rate on both delivery and installation; starting in 2026, this will also apply to homes less than 10 years old.

How much power do I need?
We calculate this based on the area, insulation, orientation, and number of windows in your space. A unit that’s too small has to run at full power constantly, while one that’s too large consumes more energy than necessary. That’s why we always start with an accurate calculation.
How much energy does an air conditioner use?
Thanks to inverter technology, modern units are very energy-efficient. Energy consumption depends on how intensively you use the unit and on its energy efficiency rating. In heating mode, an air conditioner produces more heat than it consumes in electricity, making it often more cost-effective than traditional electric heating.
Does an air conditioner make a lot of noise?
The indoor units operate very quietly, often at a whisper. The outdoor unit may be a bit noisier. That’s why we take noise standards and the distance to your neighbors into account when installing the system.
How long does the installation take?
We usually install a standard single-split system in one day. A larger multi-split system can take up to two days, depending on the piping and the location of the units.
