Peak Shaving
With the capacity rate, your grid fee is partly determined by the highest 15-minute peak in your consumption. A single brief period of high consumption can therefore have a major impact on your monthly bill.
KingConnect helps you avoid this by home battery at times when you’re using a lot of energy. It also manages your charging station can be temporarily limited to a preset power level when your household is using a lot of energy. This prevents your grid consumption from peaking and helps you keep your energy costs under control.

KingConnect ensures that you draw as little electricity as possible from the grid when prices are at their highest. It does this by intelligently discharging your battery during those peak times and adjusting your consumption accordingly. At the same time, our EMS automatically charges your battery or charging station during the cheapest hours of the day.
Smart Charging
Using your own solar energy is much more financially beneficial than feeding it back into the grid. KingConnect ensures that you use as much of the electricity you generate as possible yourself.
For example, you can set your charging station to solar mode, so your electric car charges exclusively with power from your solar panels. Your home battery can also make its capacity available to charge your car. This way, you maximize your self-consumption and reduce your peak consumption.
Solar Curtailment
When there is plenty of sunshine and low electricity consumption, a surplus of solar energy can be fed into the power grid. This often results in negative electricity prices, meaning you have to pay to feed electricity into the grid.
Our smart control system first ensures that your battery or electric vehicle is charged to its maximum capacity using your own solar energy. Only once they are fully charged is the output from your inverter temporarily reduced, or “curtailed,” to avoid feed-in costs.
Imbalance Market
Due to the growing share of renewable energy, the balance between supply and demand on the power grid is constantly shifting. An imbalance occurs when there is too much or too little power available at any given moment.
KingConnect allows your system to automatically respond to these fluctuations: by temporarily increasing your consumption or feeding extra power into the grid when it needs it. Does KingConnect work even when I don't have the app open?
Yes, you don’t need to keep the app open all the time. KingConnect is designed so that most of the smart control happens automatically, based on your input, real-time data, and smart algorithms. The app does, however, provide you with useful insights into your consumption, production, and savings, and allows you to set certain preferences or control your system remotely.
Does my system need to be connected to the internet?
Yes, an active internet connection is required for KingConnect to function optimally. Our system continuously collects live data from your solar panels, battery, charging station, and other devices. Through this connection, KingConnect can also control your system in real time and respond intelligently to factors such as electricity prices or peak consumption.
If your internet connection goes down temporarily, your system will continue to operate as usual, but some smart features—such as imbalance trading or live reporting—will be temporarily unavailable.
Why is there a subscription fee?
KingConnect operates via an online platform that continuously collects and analyzes data and applies smart controls to your system. This requires stable servers, daily monitoring, and regular updates and maintenance. The subscription fee covers these technical and management costs, ensuring that you always have access to a reliable, up-to-date service that delivers a return on your investment.
Do I need a dynamic contract to use KingConnect?
No, a dynamic energy contract is not requiredto use KingConnect. The smart control system also works with fixed-rate or variable-rate contracts.
Nevertheless, we strongly recommend a dynamic contract, as it allows you to take full advantage of fluctuating electricity prices. When combined with a home battery or charging station, KingConnect can shift your energy consumption to the cheapest times of the day. This way, you’ll get the highest return on your investment over the long term.
How do I cancel my subscription?
You can cancel your subscription at any time through your account settings in the app or by contacting our customer service. After cancellation, your system will, of course, continue to function as usual, but you will lose the benefits of smart control, automatic optimization, and real-time insights.
