Skip to content In Eulaerts, EnergyKing has installed an innovative fast-charging station next to a new ALDI store. To optimize the business case for fast charging and minimize energy costs, the company opted for a powerful combination of solar panels, large-scale battery storage, and smart control systems.
The project includes a 240 kWp PV system and four Sungrow PowerStack battery systems, providing a total capacity of 440 kW and a storage capacity of 916 kWh. The electricity generated is used to power two Alpitronic HYC400 fast chargers. Thanks to the strong synergy between the solar panels and the battery storage, the site is virtually completely independent of the power grid during the summer months.
During the remaining months, the battery system automatically charges at the most favorable market rates. In addition, the batteries absorb the high consumption peaks from the fast chargers (peak shaving), which results in significant savings on grid costs. Our proprietary energy management system (EMS) controls the entire energy system KingConnect Pro, in close collaboration with our partners BEE and Companion.
