At the Plug n’ Play site, which is home to several companies, EnergyKing has implemented an energy project focused on self-sufficiency, smart charging, and the lowest possible energy costs. The system combines a new 187 kWp PV array with the existing 36 kWp system, supported by two Sungrow PowerStack battery systems with a total capacity of 458 kWh.
The KingConnect EMS controls the entire system and ensures seamless coordination between energy production, battery storage, and the existing Smappee charging network. A specific advantage of this configuration is the intelligent control of solar power: while the existing certified system continues to generate at full capacity, the EMS cancurtail the new 187 kWp system when market conditions or grid constraints require it.
Another key component is the publicly accessible DC fast charger. To prevent fast charging sessions from causing peak power limits to be exceeded, the battery acts as a buffer. In addition, the system is linked to the flex control system from partner Imby. This allows the various installations to be used to absorb fluctuations in the power grid and minimize energy costs based on market fluctuations. With an annual CO2 reduction of over 36 metric tons, this configuration directly contributes to making the entire business site more sustainable.
