When Torson decided to centralize its operations by relocating a second branch to its expanded and renovated facility, this presented new energy-related challenges. Higher energy consumption due to the electrification of the heating systems and larger consumption peaks called for a well-thought-out strategy to keep energy costs under control.
EnergyKing implemented a comprehensive solution based on on-site solar power generation (265 kWp). To offset the impact of the new electrical systems and loads, a 458 kWh Sungrow PowerStack battery system was integrated.
The focus here is on three pillars: maximizing self-consumption (from 53% to 73%), managing expensive consumption peaks (peak shaving), and purchasing energy at the most cost-effective times through partner BEE. In this way, Torson is able to facilitate its growth while lowering its energy bill and reducing CO2 emissions by more than 31 metric tons per year.
