Are you still hesitating about installing a smart charging station? Then be sure to read this blog! Below you can read why you should consider such a charging station, how much it costs and what the benefits are.

Advantages

Having your own charging station has a lot of advantages! For starters, having your own charging station is very safe and efficient. The chance of overheating or a worn-out outlet is completely eliminated. Household outlets are a lot less capable of delivering high current for a long time. With a charging station, you never run into these kinds of problems. A charging station is specially designed to deliver more power without overheating.

There is also the fact that the cost of charging is a lot lower. Your own power is a lot cheaper than the power you get from a public charging station. Do you also have solar panels on your roof? Then the sun will even charge your car completely free of charge.

On top of that, a smart battery can also charge from the grid when power is cheap and discharge when the price of power is high. This is very interesting during the winter period when the battery does not fill up with the solar panels anyway.

Charging an electric car takes up almost a quarter of all your available power. Installing a smart charging station can provide a solution to that. These poles detect whether other devices are consuming a lot at the time, and adjust their own power accordingly. You can also program yourself when the poles should charge your car, you can consult the charging consumption via the Internet, and there are many other smart features that ensure optimal ease of use.

Cost

Then, of course, the question remains what such a smart charging station costs. It may be a lot cheaper to drive electric, but you also have to think about the price tag of the charging station itself. Depending on the type, price tags range between €600 and €1,500. On top of that comes the cost of a mandatory inspection and installation fees.

On the other hand, of course, is the fact that such an electric car is much cheaper than a regular one. While for a diesel or gasoline car you quickly spend on average between €1,100 and €1,200, this is only €750 for an electric car. Which is still a considerably lower amount.

In addition, a charging station will also ensure that your energy consumption will be a lot higher. Therefore, remember to check if you are with the cheapest energy company.

In other words, it will take some time to pay back such a charging station, but such a charging station also offers a lot of convenience and other benefits.
