What will the prosumer rate be in 2018?

People who have solar panels and a reversing counter have been paying the already-famous prosumer tariff for two years (2015). This prosumer rate is automatically charged to solar panel owners on their electricity bill and will increase in 2017.

Unfortunately, in 2017 this amount will go up. Whereas on average in 2016 a solar panel owner was still paying 95€ per 1000Wp, from 2017 this will rise to 104€ per 1000Wp. For a medium-sized solar panel installation that 4000Wp, this will be an increase of about 36€, which, in contrast to the fourth (!) increase in electricity prices, is all in all not too bad. People who now still think that electricity prices will not continue to rise, we are not going to try to convince them of the opposite, just put your total bill of your electricity next to that of 3 years ago. When you compare it you will quickly see that it has become about 20% more expensive!

The prosumer tariff, on the other hand, we can fight that. The prosumer tariff is a tax you pay because you use the grid as a "big battery." When you have excess electricity, you store it in the grid, and you can take it out later when you need it. Of course, this can only be done with a rolling back counter. So the reversing counter is the determining element. If you were to remove it, the prosumer rate falls away, but you can no longer use the grid as a "battery" or "storage."

EnergyKing is currently working on a very intelligent solution for battery storage at your home. So that you can store your excess production in a battery bank that is literally at your home. Then when you need the energy later, you take it from your battery first, and only then from the grid. This solution also allows you, for example, to charge your battery bank at night with cheap night power, and release it during the day.
